Can your software update my website if I retain my own web designer and hosting company?

Yes we offer the following items that all interact with Universal and be added to your website:

  • Property search
  • Vendor/landlord login
  • Applicant registration form

To add any of these items into your website we have a few options:

  • iFrame plugin

    We supply your web designer with the relevant code needed to imbed in your site to provide an online property search. You have to choose from a number of fixed layout solutions. This is included in your subscription at no extra cost.

  • Custom script

    We can supply your web designer access to an account that provides the property data in a 'raw' format. They would then need to write a script to extract this data and output this onto your own website in whatever style/layout you choose. We can provide details on how the data is structured. Please note this is only for the property search and not the login or registration pages.

  • We create websites / custom searches

    We offer website design and can fully integrate Universal with your website. Click here for details.

Do I need to backup my system?
  • Universal Anywhere

    No - Thesaurus Technology will back up your system for you each day, so you don't have to worry about computer failure or loss of data.

  • Universal Office

    Yes - The system runs locally so backup's need to be in place. Contact the help desk for advice on this.

Can I access the software on a tablet?
  • Universal Anywhere

    Yes - You need to download a remote desktop app. Click here for details

  • Universal Office

    No

I am using Universal Office at the moment. Can I upgrade to Anywhere with out re-entering all of my details?

Yes, there is an import routine to allow you to copy across your current system you can even merge multiple branches into one Universal Anywhere system.

What support is available?

What are the system requirements?
  • Universal Anywhere
    • Internet connection
    • Microsoft Windows 10 / 8 / 7 / Vista
    • Microsoft Word 2007 or newer (for printing)
  • Universal Office
    • Internet connection (for uploading listings, emailing or SMS)
    • Microsoft Windows 10 / 8 / 7 / Vista
    • Microsoft Word 2007 or newer (for printing)
    • Server software - Windows 8 / 7 / Vista (SP1) / XP / 2003 / 2008 operating systems(32/64 bit compatible).
      Please note that if you intend to network the software, the operating system on the server should be the same version or newer than the clients.
Does the software run on a mac?
  • Universal Anywhere

    We do not recommend you use Mac's, however you can login and access the software on a Mac using a remote desktop app, see here for details. There are limitations on printing/generation word documents as this needs to be done in a Microsoft Windows environment. If you only use Mac's we may have some other options available to you, please contact the help desk for advice.

  • Universal Office

    No - The software can only be run in a Microsoft Windows environment.

Can the software run in multiple branches?
  • Universal Anywhere

    Yes, you can login to the same system and share the data anywhere at different locations. It could be in another branch, off site or even at home. You need at least one licence per branch on the system

  • Universal Office

    Yes, but the data would not be shared. This would require an additional branch licence.

What additional fees are there?

There are NO setup costs, the only additional fees are, SMS message costs, real time feed and postcode look up if these extras are required. All our prices are available here.

Can I pay monthly?

Yes - Unless instructed otherwise payments are normally taken every quarter, however you can pay monthly if your payment method is direct debit. Please contact us to arrange this.

What are your support hours?

The help desk office hours are available:

  • Monday - Friday: 9:00am - 5:30pm
  • Saturday: 10:00am - 4:00pm

Please note we are closed on bank holidays.

How long does it take to setup your account?

Orders placed and paid for via our website will be setup within 60 minutes of payment confirmation. Please note this is during office hours, orders placed outside office hours will be setup the next working day.

Orders placed via postal order forms will be setup on the day they arrive.
